Blogging is a wonderful endeavor and can benefit a person in more ways you can imagine. However, one of the challenges a blogger often faces is how to produce images for his or her entries. There isn't always enough time to shoot photos for internet business and besides, the subjects you wish to take a picture of aren't always available. Luckily, there are free blog images you can use online. They can provide your entries the color and appeal that will make them more pleasurable to read. What's more, they also help with your search engine optimization (SEO) campaign.

Blogging images can be found in many sites, but you have to ensure that they are open for everyone's use. See, many photos online are protected by copyrights and committing the mistake of touching them can be disastrous on your part.

One, you may have to suffer the humiliation of having to take down the photos your readers have already seen and appreciated. It's not uncommon that owners of copyrighted images would email bloggers (who used their photos without permission) to ask them to take the photos down. Two, you may have to face a shameful lawsuit for using copyrighted materials. You wouldn't want either to happen to you, would you? What a nightmare!

Fortunately, many free blog images are available for public use. In most cases, you will just have to make attribution to the owner. Images like these fall under what is known as Creative Commons (CC) license.

If you haven't heard of CC yet, it's basically an organization that standardized the permitting of the usage and sharing of creative works in public. They encourage the sharing of knowledge and creativity via free legal tools so no one would be called a thief as long as they follow simple requirements.

You must understand that CC licenses do not work as copyright alternatives. What they are, actually, is more of modifiers of the latter. They work alongside copyrights to change some of their terms according to what they deem better.

Now, on to selecting the right photo for your blog entries.

The problem when there are too many options is it can be quite difficult to pick the best one. What you can do is go to a particular photo site and use the search feature. Almost all websites that offer free images have search boxes so your life can be a lot easier.

On this box, you can simply type the post title and see what photos will appear. You can also type the keyword, if you have one, or even just the topic of what you wrote. You'll be surprised at how many wonderful options there can be.

Free blog images provide an opportunity to make your blog posts a lot more pleasurable to read. Don't hesitate to give them a try because if you do, you would miss a lot of its good.
