Always Have Faith In Yourself Examples Of Ron Rice, Wilma Rudolph, & Michael Jordan By James Malinchak

by Rubin Price

Believing in yourself is the best habit you should adopt in your life. As you go through life you will meet people who tell you that you're not smart enough to be successful. You'll meet people who tell you that you do not have the ability to succeed. You'll certainly meet men and women who just don't believe in you or your abilities. So, if you don't have faith in yourself and the dreams you desire, then who will?

"The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you are capable of doing something, you can do it - so long as you really believe it 100%." ~-Arnold Schwarzenegger

Ron Rice is the founder of Hawaiian Tropic sun tanning oils and lotions. He was raised in a log cabin in North Carolina and worked his way through college as a lifeguard. Ron's concept began in his garage area as a mixture of a couple of ingredients in a garbage can. Today, Hawaiian Tropic is one of the largest tanning oil and lotion producers in the world, grossing hundreds of millions of dollars every year.

Consider the story of Michael Jordan? Did you know that Michael Jordan was once cut from his high school basketball team? It would have been easy for Michael to feel sorry for himself; it would have been easy to stop believing in his ability. But, he did not! Michael did not listen to those who said he would fail or those who laughed at him. He simply continued believing in himself and did not quit until he had accomplished his goals. Today, many say that Michael Jordan is probably the greatest basketball player who ever played the game. This would have never happened had he given up and quit believing in himself when he was cut from his high school team?

"My mother taught me very early to believe I could achieve any accomplishment I wanted. The first was to walk without braces." ~-Wilma Rudolph, winner of three Olympic gold medals

At age 4, Wilma Rudolph contracted scarlet fever and double pneumonia, which left her with a paralyzed leg. She had to wear a metal leg brace until age 9. At age 13, she entered a race and came in last place. Everyone told her to quit running, but she did not. She believed in herself and continued until she finally won a race. She continued running and kept on winning. Eventually, she went on to win three Olympic gold medals. This was the same little girl told she would never walk again.
