How to go About Selecting a Niche

by Tiffany Bryan

Many guides to marketing will instruct you to pick a niche before anything else when you want to start a business. It's true that once you resolve to start any type of business, you have to decide what you're going to be selling. A niche, if you aren't yet familiar with the term, is the subject or field in which you will be doing business. There are many different niches, from dog training to gardening to basket weaving. How, then, do you go about selecting a niche? What things should you consider when it comes time to pick the niche?

You can really get bogged down in the minutiae with niche hunting, and that is what you have to stay away from. All IM marketers had to start from the beginning, so look at what you want to accomplish. The thing you want to do is have an overall plan, but that is after you have chosen a niche. So if you want to go for something that is challenging, then that is fine just so you know it will take effort. Just do your research based on what you learn, and then you have to make the best decision about it.

Most niches will be able to support a large number of ways to market it and write about. If you are going for SEO and ranking in Google, then you had better have solid topics and content you can produce. You do not have to write huge amounts of volume, necessarily, but there has to be enough meat on the niche ribs. It would be a sticky situation if you had a 20 or 30 page blog and that is it. So that is just something else but not truly a make or break point even though it is important.

To start out with, how much of the budget do you have? What does this have to do with your niche of choice? You wouldn't want to choose a business that requires a lot of initial costs (such as setting up your products and services) if you do not have a budget to work with at all. The smaller the budget, the more likely you will be better off with the service business. If you have a lot of money to work with, this is not a question, nor a problem at all. You basically need to evaluate whether or not the niche you are choosing will require a budget or not. Based upon that, you can then choose an appropriate niche to go after.

There are so many things that factor into choosing a niche. The choice might be as easy as saying 'My photography business is what I love! I am going to do that!'. Or, it could be difficult. 'I am not sure if I want to learn about cooking or not?'. Use these ideas to help you narrow your field down so that you can make the decision that works best for you.

You know there are many methods available to use with online marketing, and mobile money blueprint is merely one of them but it should be seriously considered.
