James: You need to ask yourself which roadblocks might arise and how will I overcome them? I'd rather be prepared and never have to use the solution then to not be prepared, have an obstacle come up and not know what to do. That is step five. Think of the possible obstacles and the solutions.

John: Well I am ready right now, it seems like to take action on my goal, but I'm not being a goal doer yet. There's nothing I'm doing so what's the next step?

James: You are so wise grasshopper. Step one you get a specific goal. Step two is create a purpose for each goal. Step three is to list others who can help you achieve your goal. Step four is to develop your plan. Step five is think about possible obstacles and the solutions. And step six, and this is so important John, take action now.

You need to ask yourself which steps will I immediately begin. You have to do something. If you follow steps one through five and you do not do step six it doesn't matter what you did in steps one through five. All you're really doing is planning and visualizing and creating stuff. That is great if you're an artistic person, but I believe that everybody listening to this CD should be a take action person, a doer.

A number of my favorite quotes, Gary Halbert who's a top, top copywriter and paid $25,000.00 to write copy and sales letters has this quote that I think is just so profound. He says, "You always accomplish more through movement than through meditation."

You should do something about it. If you already have your specific goal, number one. Number two if you've got a purpose. Number three if you listed a lot of people who can help you. Number four if you made a plan. Number five you thought of the possible obstacles and solutions. Number six just begin working the plan.

Maybe there are three people that I need to go talk to because I listed them in step three of people who could help me. Well, I got to pick up the phone and give them a call or send them a letter or an email. You need to do something. Do not expect them to just knock on your door. It's not happening.

You have got to do what I call get off your assets. Do something.

You need to ask yourself this question. What steps will I immediately begin? The key word is immediately. I think Nike has one of the best slogans ever made "Just Do It".

When you figure I need to call this person, just pick up the phone and call someone who knows their number, leave a message and sit down and type them a letter. Do something right now. Just do something. Get the ball moving. Get the thing in motion.

You've got to take action because it you don't then you will always be where you have always been and you will always get what you've always had so don't be surprised, don't moan and don't complain because you can do something about it.

What's that old saying about the guy walks on the porch and there's a guy sitting there and the guy has a dog and the dog is lying on this old broken board with this nail sticking up, stabbing him in the gut but the dog never moves. He says why hasn't the dog changed or moved or done something. Well it is not painful enough yet. He does not see the benefit of if he moves how much better it'll be.
