The Troubles Collection Agencies Suffer

One time my friend told me a story about how collection agencies targeted him after he finished school. He didn't have the most promising student loan amounts to pay off and things were made more daunting when a debt collector contacted him. I empathized with my friend as I should have but I also had to wonder how much of what he was legitimate. Part of me believed that there was more to the story and once I searched online for stories, I was quite startled by my findings.

The article that I came across on the Huffington Post website was called "Real Confessions of Debt Collectors." The aforementioned article spoke about the many stories that people working in collection agencies came across and many of them were downright shocking. In one scenario, freelance journalist Kerri Fivecoat talked about the series of death and bomb threats that the company had come across. Starting off with the article, I read and discovered that these people were not entirely innocent victims, even if <a href="https://foursquare.com/v/rapid-recovery-solution/4ca1478a46978cfa8318bb7f/">R.R.S.</a>, amongst other organizations, work professionally with them.

The misconception about <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rapid-Recovery-Solution-Inc/22439864072?sk=likes/">debt collecting</a> that seems to arise time and time again is that those who are in such a business are horrible, disgusting men and women who don't appreciate life. This is not only harsh but it's a total fabrication. They don't want to start fights with people but rather help them. Their job is to assist all parties involved in a case so that a fair result is arrived at. Since collection agencies work off of commission, would they want to upset the people they work with?

The idea of fear is a tremendous factor when it comes to debt collectors and how they contact debtors via telephone. It's difficult for debtors to meet the collectors for contact since they are fearful and, as a result, may fully ignore them. Negligence is not the issue in this case since they know that they don't own up to the problem. They are merely horrified over what may happen. A word of advice: hiding from a collector's phone call is the equivalent of breaking your mom's vase and hiding the shards. Neither one will turn out well. If excuses are made, the feeling of guilt only adds to the fear.

Those from the outside looking in may have the most negative perspective on debt collectors, even if they aren't fully aware of the business. They only know about what they hear whether it's from friends, the television, or what have you. However, debt collecting may just be the job with the greatest amount of misconceptions ever known. The people who make a living in this line of work are not these immoral people who are out for blood. They are only people who work but encounter more scrutiny than they deserve.
