Increase Your Online Sales Without Begging

Chances are you have seen people on your Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts attempting to sell you something at one time or another. This is pathetic not to mention aggravating. The majority don't mind a sales pitch or coupon offer here and there but for the most part no one logs on to any of these social networks to be snowed under with the please buy my stuff sales pitch.
In this blog post I'm going to share a few tips that I discovered from 4th Generation Communications founder and Chief Executive Tim Beachum. I had the benefit of interviewing him recently and one of the things that intrigued me the most was his take on how business owners utilized social media to try to increase their sales. Everything he said rang correct for me because I was once one of those folks that was, "begging" For business.
Before it is possible to effectively drive sales online you must first understand why people get online to start with. You do not go to the grocery store to watch the movies, you do not go to McDonalds to buy tacos, I think you are starting to get the point. Using that same logic it should make it easy to comprehend that people don't login to Facebook or Twitter to receive messages from you saying, "buy my stuff!"
When you understand the mental reasons that people use the Internet it will make it much easier to promote your products or services. Irrespective of what fancy wording is employed there are only 3 reasons on earth that make people wish to get online. Those reasons are as fallows:
1. Research - people look up information on everything from how to, diy, and review type sources.
2. Interactivity - people access the Internet to interact with each other. This is the reason why social media is a big deal. It gives people the chance to be heard, and to engage other like minded people.
3. Entertainment - Since the start of time people have always hungered for one form or another when it comes down to entertainment. The same applies to the day and age of the Internet. Entertainment of our choice is merely a few mouse button clicks away.
Now you understand why people get online can you see why the old fashion system of begging for business no longer applies? Give your clients and prospects high-value content that answers a difficulty that they may be having and in return you will have earned the privilege of conducting business with them. This exchange is commonly known as the Law of Reciprocity and it is a Universal law that works.
All you have to do is follow the information in this article and allow the magic to happen.
