Lesser Known Games Using an Internet Marketing Company

by Rob Sutter

When talking about video games that have been successful, a number of factors have gone into it. Yes, the overall quality of such games worked since aspects like graphics, sound, and gameplay are usually of the highest pedigree. However, it'd be wrong to dismiss the power of advertising, which is what separates good games from other good games which don't have that utility to help. I believe that an Internet marketing company can help the titles which are still fun but just don't have enough eyes on them.

"Hotel Dusk: Room 215," in my opinion, is quite possibly one of the best games seen for the Nintendo DS. Not only is it fun to play and figure out but the story is one that gamers could sink their teeth into. Would there be any question as to why this title would be so popular? Nintendo, not any other developer, was able to create it as well so it's not like it was a company that had little resources. It's just sad that the title proved to be rather niche when it could have had a higher level of gameplay.

Another example I can name off easily is "Okami," which is quite an attractive game due to its unique watercolor-like aesthetic. This painting is one that is animated, though, and you will see that once you sink your teeth into this grand adventure. Despite its several accolades it had accumulated over the years, Capcom hasn't secured a grasp on its overall popularity. While every gamer worth their salt knows who Mega Man is, Okami is still very much an overlooked title which could benefit from the Internet's impact.

Hiring an Internet marketing company in order to bolster the reputation of a video game should, in theory, bring about a multitude of positives. The success seen within companies like fishbat can't be argued since several clients have been serviced and, furthermore, gained a bigger fan count on the web. How much better would "Hotel Dusk" be if it was able to utilize the waves of social media? The sequel that stayed relegated to Europe would have, without question, been brought over to the United States.

I don't think it's right that genuinely good games are ignored simply because marketing isn't all there. If you ask me, there are more excellent games that don't have the attention than terrible games that do. Yes, media exposure plays a great part here and I have to believe that certain titles can benefit from Internet marketing. After all, gaming should only get better as time moves onward and without this type of marketing put into play, I fear it may grow stagnant.
