There is also the need to coat them with layers for different purposes. These purposes may help make them more palatable such as those that are coated with sugar. Protective layers may be placed so that they would not break down prematurely in the stomach and active ingredients get to be released only in the intestines.

Most of them are custom made for different products specially in the pharmaceutical industry where they are needed to create significant amounts to meet public demands. This allows freedom to create different products according to the specifications of the user.

These items have improved significantly. During the past, they are only capable of creating one tablet at a time. Production of many tablets would require a lot of time and effort. As for now, they are capable of producing large quantities within a short period of time and can be operated by computers.
