A Gift Basket Can Be A Wonderful Way To Help Someone In The Hospital Feel Better

As soon as I heard that my Aunt had shattered her ankle bone, the first idea that came to mind was that we should get her a gourmet gift basket. When it occurred, she was carrying a basket of laundry out to her clothesline in order to dry them. Happy, her Yorkshire Terrier was lying in the grass taking a nap when my aunt, vision blocked by the height of her piled clothing, tripped on him and hit the ground, strewing her fresh laundry all around. The consequence of her fall was a shattered ankle bone and a ride in an ambulance.
She felt pretty ashamed for some reason and insisted that none of us go to her in the hospital. Knowing Auntie as well as we do, we assumed she was bluffing and felt that a gift basket would be the proper thing to put her in better spirits. It may sound funny, but no one in the entire family had ever been involved in the purchase of gourmet gift baskets prior to this. We all assumed that we could get what we required from the gift shop in the hospital. In spite of our plans, there was nothing in the gift shop that would meet our needs.
Auntie would have been very displeased is we had had the gall to bring her one of those lame gift shop baskets. Our next idea involved taking a drive to a flower store in the area and seeing what we could find. We put our visit to Auntie on pause and made the trip. We drove fast, getting there more quickly than we should have, only to find out that the available gift baskets were not appropriate for Auntie.
I'll admit that we were less than happy as we returned to the hospital holding a tiny bouquet of flowers. When she saw it, she thanked us, of course, but also mentioned that flowers wouldn't endure long. We returned home that day annoyed that we had not been able to locate what we wanted. But with a flash of insight, I thought that it would be a good idea to look online. Very quickly, a website appeared in my search that was a perfect solution.
There were so many baskets to select from, including baby gift baskets, Christmas gift baskets, corporate gift baskets, holiday gift baskets, and several specialty theme baskets that I quite liked. We found a wonderful one for Auntie and she thought it was amazing.
