You can start ranking well for the easier pages in a short period of time. At the same time that you are ranking the easier pages, you should also do some backlinking for the harder ones as well. What you will find is the easier pages will obviously get ranked sooner, and then they will help to lift up your harder phrase pages. This is a technique that advanced marketers have been using for a long time, but it can easily be used by someone just starting out.
If you're using SEO to build your site, try to estimate what results your actions will have in the near and even distant future. Some keyword phrases are super competitive, meaning that the average small site has little or no chance for ever reaching the first few pages of the listings for them. It's not a good use of your time to focus on these. But the good news is there are millions of keywords and they are not all returned in keyword research software tools. Many people overlook this, assuming that they can rely on the Google Keyword Tool to tell them everything. You should at least go after keywords that you have a realistic possibility of ranking for.
Also, if you are promoting many products on different pages, you can be more specific with the use of colours to match the product emotional impact. Even within the same niche, two products may require completely different approaches. When you promote any product, then, you should carefully consider the mood you want to create and who your audience will be. Surprisingly, in all the time I've been in internet marketing, I've never actually seen a book that gives instructions on how to repair a site that isn't working well. The only way you can uncover this information is by discovering what needs to be done and what's right or wrong. You can avoid such a situation by using your knowledge but also making sure it's accurate.
