Holiday wreaths add charm and beauty to one's home. They are welcoming and for many people the holidays are just not complete without one. While buying one already made is an option, you can also design and make your own. This way you get something that fits in with your home's style. You are sure to get exactly what you want, you also have fun doing it. These are very easy to make. Once you get started and see how much fun and how easy this is, you won't want to stop.

Go shopping at the craft store. You are going to need a wire form. Determine the size that you want and buy a form that is the correct size. You should also pick up some craft wire. Choose some small red, green, gold and silver mini ornaments to use for decorations. You may also want some tiny pine cones also. Finally look at the selection of beautiful wired ribbon. Pick a festive one to make your beautiful bow.

If you are using something other than greenery you may want to use something else as a form. For example if you are making a candy wreath, florist wire will work well. For a beaded wreath a Styrofoam base would work best. You should think about the type you would like to make before heading to the store.

Check out craft stores both locally and online. You will find so many fun decorations and ideas this way. Take your time and look around to find jingle bells in different colors, ribbons and items that can be wired of glued on. For example if you have children, make one for their room with all of their favorite holiday characters. Of course you don't want to forget the candy canes.

Take a walk around your property to find greenery. This will save you money over the cost of having to buy it. Though of course if you do not have greenery on your property visit your local nursery to buy some. Cut or buy greenery at the last minute. Get it right before you are ready to begin work.

Greenery is not just for your wreath. You can also make swags. These are also stunning when used in the home. You can easily fashion these just by wiring some pieces together. Place them around your home where they can add some unexpected color and beauty.

Greenery still has a place even if you are trying to do something different. Add greenery to a square form for something that is a lovely mix of traditional and unique. A large one looks beautiful over the fire place or on the front door. Add some smaller square ones to your front windows.
