Deepika Padukone & Amitabh Bachchan share a special bond

Former Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar model and actor Deepika Padukone has been grabbing headlines for her eye-catching appearance at the recent GQ Men of the Year Awards. Born in Denmark, Deepika was an established model before Farah Khan selected her to star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om.

Soon after the award function, Deepika was seen at Amitabh Bachchan's 70th birthday celebration. Dressed in a stunning black and gold Anarkali salwar suit, she managed to turn a few heads during the celebration. Big B's birthday bash saw faces like Yash Chopra, Karan Johar, Vinod Khanna, Hema Malini, Jeetendra, Prem Chopra, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor with wife Neetu Kapoor and many more from the film fraternity was seen gracing the event.

Deepika also made an appearance at Amitabh Bachchan's 70th birthday bash. Wearing a black and gold Rohit Bal Anarkali dress, the actor looked stunning and gorgeous and went on to wish Mr. Bachchan on his special day. Also present at the event were Dharma Productions chief Karan Johar, Bunty Bachchan, Yash Chopra, Anil Ambani and Javed Akhtar amongst other big-screen actors and celebrities including Vinod Khanna, Hema Malini, Pran, Jeetendra, Waheeda Rehman, Prem Chopra, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor with wife Neetu.

Speaking about her role in Aarakshan in which she played the daughter of Mr. Bachchan's character, Deepika said, "Once you play father and daughter in a film (as they did in Aarakshan), you always share a bond for life. I remember the first guests at my new flat were Jayaji and Amitji. Jayaji spoke to me about my film and told me that I reminded her of her daughter." A year ago, Amitabh Bachchan graced Ms. Padukone's housewarming party. Also, the young actor was extremely pleased to have worked with one of Bollywood's most recognized personalities, Amitabh Bachchan. Quoting Deepika Padukone, "He (Amitabh Bachchan) made me very, very comfortable. However, even as the camera is rolling and you are mouthing your dialogues, you are constantly wondering if he is judging your performance.
