If you want to make money with PPC advertising, then you will need a landing page that works. The last thing you want is a landing page that is nothing but a show stopper. Therefore, effectively optimizing your landing page is the key to long term success.

If you want your landing page to give you a high return on your investment and help you generate long term results, then focus on minimizing the distractions by keeping the navigation simple. What you want to do is edit out any navigation that is not necessary for your page. It is fine if you want to use a company logo, but just be sure everything is minimal. One thing about landing pages is there are not supposed to have a ton of information on them, and that is a good policy to follow. One thing you must try to do is create a professional image with your landing page. If your page makes people think you are not serious, then very often that will be the end of it. You never want to appear in an unfavorable light with your site visitors. On a landing page, there really is not much need of graphics. You can find excellent photos at one of the better photo stock sites. But avoid using images just because they look great because you will decrease site performance.

Not many PPC advertisers are aware of this but one of the factors that Google AdWords uses to determine the quality score of your page is by analyzing the loading time of your page. Avoid using images that take long to load, a ten second and under load may be all right. To be on the safe side, do not exceed five seconds with your landing page loading. You may have to be careful about flash objects as they can add a lot to the file and load times. But you also want to remember that your page should be cluttered with moving animation, too much.
