Even Forbes.com got a word of warning from Google on advertising links from their site. Early this year, Google Webmaster sent Forbes.com a letter stating that it has detected that some if not all pages on the site are using techniques which are not passing Google's quality guidelines further, and more particularly, Google asked Forbes.com to look for unnatural links on their website pointing to other websites that could be intended to exploit PageRank. This has confirmed once again that buying links is not a secure <a href="http://www.seo-magic-webs.com/seo-results">SEO</a> tactic.

Purchasing Links Versus Building Permanent Links

As a site owner, you might wonder why link buying is so rampant. Well, it is true that link buying can skyrocket a site into the rankings in a very short time. But it is also true that link buying comes with negative aspects. The first danger is that of Google bringing down the site. The second danger is that of the SEO vendor having control of the site ranking. It has already happened that a certain client, who terminated the service contract with the SEO vendor, lost all the links in only one day, after the SEO vendor stripped each and every one the links from the website. The result is a drastic plummet in the rankings. This strategy is not moral at all.

When it comes to link building, content-based SEO is dependable for permanent results. What happens is that human article writers do the hardwork of writing content about the products and services a website offers, and this article gets disseminated to personal websites or even organisation websites. If these sites accept the posts, then they can decide to link back to the originator of the post, which is the site. Quality posts produce high-quality and permanent links.

So If Forbes.com Really Likes Your Website, You Don't Have To Buy Links From Them!

Some SEO vendors even assure buying a link from an Oprah site, as if Oprah can be bought. If Oprah genuinely likes your site, then she can link to you as is her own gumption. Imagine how high up the rankings you can shoot up if your website has an inlink from Oprah. Permanent content-based SEO is hard to earn but it lingers. In fact, many site owners share the experience of remaining high in the rankings even after they have stopped actively doing SEO.
