Great Web Design that will Yield Results

by Sheena Walls

An excellent website design seems to be the hallmark of any site that is successful and high quality. We are always forming impressions and opinions about everything we see, and the same goes for visiting a website. Even before they read a word, they see how your site looks and if it is appealing. So if you want to make the right first impression and ensure that your visitors stay longer on your site, then it's important that you focus on getting the smallest design elements right on your website. So we will cover a few of the important website design topics that will make some kind of impact on your visitors.Epic Traffic Bot

One of the most important factors of effective web design is consistent navigation throughout your site. Your approach with planning is instrumental to success because it will give you ample time to design the navigation layout. The navigation has to be easy to see but also not overbearing so it jumps out of the page. All of your site visitors will cast their vote on your site as expressed by spending more or less time on the site. Part of the website experience, which obviously must be positive, is that the navigation is simple so that people use it without thinking about it.Success With Anthony

If you have a header, and not all sites use one, but obviously you should include a home page link that is prominent. You more than likely have seen enough examples of this so you have a pretty good handle about it. Plus you do need to ensure that all of your pages have the homepage link on it. If you lack consistency with link placement, people probably will get the feeling the site is unprofessional. Just about always if you see a logo up top, and it is also a link - it is a way to click back to the main page.

If your site will be for content, then make sure your content is the centerpiece of each page. You will find just about all serious content sites make just about no use of Flash. If you want to use Flash, then you have to think about the purpose of the site and who your audience is. Besides this, flash takes time to load and slows down your pages, which may not be very appealing to your visitors. A Flash splash page is somewhat outdated, and honestly you do not see them used very often. So that is an alternative to Flash that you can provide if you are so inclined.

There's much more to web design than what we discussed here; in reality, this is only the tip of the iceberg. Try to get as much right as possible early on so you are not constantly making corrections and adding or subtracting.

I have found loads of information on Commission Prophet that can really help.
