The Different Types Of Luxury Yachts
by Sarah James
Speak of "sailing in style" and a luxury yacht quickly enters people's thoughts. This is not surprising at all! What can be more classy than privately sunbathing in the middle of the ocean? To think, these are only some of the activities you can do while on this grand sea vessel.
Coined in the early 20th century, luxury yachts had been linked to no one else but the affluent and famous people. This term came into existence when these people started building private yachts for personal use. Nowadays, this kind of water vessel is primarily used for recreation. Furthermore, while before it was solely for those who can afford to purchase or build one, today, individuals who have the money to rent can experience sailing in style.
Basically, luxury yachts are divided into two types - sailing or motorized luxury yachts. More often than not, the size of the sea vessel is dependent on its type. Sailing luxury yachts are smaller than those which are powered. This means that the sailing types can accommodate fewer individuals. Nevertheless, while it is small and has a limited capacity, a sailing luxury yacht still boasts of extravagant interiors and has the necessary amenities such as a kitchen, rooms with air-conditioners and private bathroom and shower room. Some even have an outdoor Jacuzzi.
Meanwhile, motorized luxury yachts are way bigger, with some even going beyond 328 feet in height. Bigger yachts mean more cabins and facilities. The cabins are usually designed like 5-star hotels' VIP suites. Apart from having an indoor Jacuzzi, some even have massage room, discotheque, and bowling alley. Others would have a salon and private sitting room. At present, the larger types can load jet skis, smaller boats and diving equipment if the owner and his guests need them for some out-of-the-yacht adventures.
Naturally, for something as special and sophisticated as a luxury yacht, the highest level of craftsmanship is needed. Also, only top quality materials must be used in its construction. These factors are necessary to ensure that the vessel stands true to its label. Most importantly, the highest level of boat building skills and the use of high quality materials ensure the creation of a safe and sturdy vessel.
