Make sure your 2012 trade show efforts are highly effective.
Before attending any trade show, we strongly recommend doing some research into that particular trade show. The company that is holding the trade show could be potentially over-hyping it to try to attract attendees. Contact other companies who have attended that trade show in the past to find out if they had a positive experience or if you should pass on it. Especially for a new company or if you're on a limited budget, you want to attend a trade show that has been proven to attract a large number of attendees.
Attending just any trade show that caters to your particular industry might not always be wise. Find out which trade shows are most likely to be attended by the people who represent the companies you want to do business with.
When you're preparing for a trade show appearance, put the word out with your existing customer base and potential customers in your market that you will be making an appearance at a specific trade show. Ideally, you can use this trade show appearance to make a big announcement about a new product release or new service you're offering.
Get your sales team prepped well ahead of time and make sure they know exactly how you want them to represent your company at the trade show. A trade show appearance is your chance to generate new business from leads or even make a sale while you're there. With that in mind, your sales team needs to be able to immediately connect with anyone who comes to your booth - as well as qualify them to determine if they are a good fit for what you are offering before making a sales pitch.
If you do acquire new business leads at the trade show, follow up with them as soon as you are back in the office. You want to act as soon as possible so that your company is still fresh in any potential customer's memory.
Grab the attention of your customers and potential customers who are attending the trade show by utilizing an eye-catching billboard or exhibit at your booth. If you have any signage at your booth describing what your company offers, make sure it is easy to scan quickly so trade show attendees know right away why they want to stop at your booth and learn more.
If you plan on offering giveaway items - offer an item that is of immediate value such as a marketing guide or book that a potential customer could get some use out of.
If you have a plan to attend a trade show and you have a trade show booth, product demos or other properties that need shipping to the venue, contact Exhibit Transport right away. With our extensive experience, we can assist you with all the details including freight, customs clearances and most importantly - make sure your items get to the trade show on time and undamaged. Trust in Exhibit Transport to help you make your trade show appearance the success you deserve!
